⚔️Duels

What Are Duels?
Duels turn trading into a skill-based competition. Instead of betting on luck, players test their strategy head-to-head — trading the same market over the same time period to see who performs best.
It’s part game, part trading tournament — but always fair, transparent, and on-chain.
TL;DR (for the degens): Duels are PvP trading battles where everyone starts equal. Pay a small buy-in, trade smart, and the top performer takes the prize pool in USDC.
🕹 How It Works
1️⃣ Create or Join a Duel
Go to the Lobby to start a new match or join one that’s already open.
Each Duel has a few key settings:
Market
The asset being traded (e.g., ETH/USD).
Start Time & Duration
When it begins and how long it lasts.
Buy-In
The entry fee that goes into the prize pool.
Collateral
Your in-game trading balance — think of it like fuel for your trades. Whatever remains at the end of the event is returned to you.
Participants
The number of players allowed in the match.
Everyone pays the same buy-in to keep things fair. All buy-ins combine into the prize pool that the winner takes at the end.

2️⃣ Enter the Arena
Once the Duel begins, each player can open long or short trades using their collateral. Collateral acts like your trading power — it determines how large your trades can be.
If you run low, you can’t open new trades, so manage it carefully.

3️⃣ Track Your Performance
Each Duel has a live leaderboard. Instead of score or damage, your “health bar” represents your Profit and Loss (PnL) — the difference between your wins and losses.
📈 Profits raise your health bar.
📉 Losses reduce it.
Your goal: finish with the highest PnL by the end of the match.

4️⃣ Win and Withdraw
When the timer ends:
🏆 The top performer wins 95% of the total prize pool, automatically sent to their wallet in USDC.
💰 All players get back their remaining collateral.
🔒 You can close open trades before exiting. But ONLY TRADES CLOSED DURING THE EVENT COUNT towards realized PnL. Be sure to lock in enough profits if you are trying to win an event.
Example: 5 players join a $20 buy-in Duel ($100 total). The winner earns $95; everyone else keeps whatever collateral remains.

💡 Why Duels Are Different
Traditional trading can feel lonely or confusing. Duels make it social, structured, and transparent — no hidden odds, no centralized trust.
✅ All trades execute on-chain through GMX, ensuring real market prices. ✅ No fake balances or paper trading. ✅ Skill, strategy, and discipline — not luck — decide the outcome. 💬 Discuss strategy, talk smack, and enjoy trading with the in game chat.
